What is a registered holistic nutritionist?
Registered holistic nutritionists (R.H.N.) are professionals trained in natural nutrition and complementary therapies, whose principal function is to educate individuals and groups about the benefits and health impact of optimal nutrition. Through my training at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, I'm qualified to work with clients to identify and help correct the nutritional imbalances and to design personalized diet and lifestyle programs that support good health. My goal as an R.H.N. is to help you make the best possible choices to meet your performance or health needs.
Where are you located?
I'm based in Ottawa, Canada, and see clients locally. However, I also work with clients remotely (via Skype, Zoom, phone, etc), and I travel frequently for speaking engagement, retreats, and culinary events.
I noticed that you are also a plant-based chef, does that mean you only work with vegans or vegetarians?
My training in culinary school was focussed on plant-based foods, but I am completely inclusive in my practice. Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, flexitarian, or omnivore, I'm happy to work with anybody who is looking to move towards a diet containing more plant-based foods.
I have never been to a Holistic Nutritionist before, is there anything I should bring to my initial consultation?
Yes, please bring any medication and/or supplements that you are taking. You should also bring your completed intake forms, waiver and food log.
Does insurance cover your nutrition services?
Some private or extended health care plans may cover one-on-one nutrition services. Many “Flex Plans” or “Health Spending Accounts” allow members to allocate their health insurance funds towards complimentary health services. Please check with your insurance company to see if your plan extends coverage to nutrition counselling services. If you do not have third party coverage, your receipts may be used as a tax deduction for medical expenses.
Do you provide receipts?
Yes, I can provide receipts.
